Act three opens with wedding festivities, minus Lucia and Arturo who, legally wed, are presumably getting it on in some drafty upstairs suite at Lammermoor.

But thats not exactly the case. Wedding guests watch in horror (above) as Raimondo (John Allin, left) announces that Lucia has gone mad, stabbed Arturo to death, and is arriving at the party.

The famous mad scene ensues, with Lucia (Sinéad Sugrue) believing she is with Edgardo once again. Enrico (Yevgeny Yablonovsky) arrives, realizes that maybe the wedding wasnt such a good idea, but is silenced by the pathos of Lucias plight.

Distraught guests, leaving the castle, encounter Edgardo (Kennon Saari) and inform him that Lucias madness has led to her collapse and death.

Not wanting to live without Lucia, Edgardo stabs himself, as Raimondo (John Allin, left) and horrified guests lament the outcome of this terrible day.
