Elizabeth McLeod as Elisa; Sinéad Sugrue as Lucia
Lucia di Lammermoor (Sinéad Sugrue, right, with confidante Alisa, played by Elizabeth McLeod) nervously awaits the arrival of her lover Edgardo, mortal enemy of her brother Enrico. She does not yet know that Enrico is planning to restore the family fortunes by forcing her to marry the wealthy and well-connected Arturo.
Kennon Saari as Edgardo; Sinead Sugrue as Lucia
Edgardo (Kennon Saari) arrives for their tryst. He and Lucia get a great love duet. He explains that he has to leave Scotland for France on a political mission, but wishes to reconcile with Enrico so that he and Lucia can marry. Lucia knows her brother. She has her doubts. But the two lovers exchange rings and vows.
Yevgeny Yablonovsky as Enrico
In the castle, her brother Enrico (Yevgeny Yablonovsky) plans the forced marriage to Arturo.
Yevgeny Yablonofsky; Sinead Sugrue
When he confronts her with the news that she must marry the man of his choosing, Lucia is at first defiant. But she collapses in tears when he shows her a forged letter, allegedly from Edgardo, proving him pledged to another.
Sinead Sugrue; John Allin as Raimondo
As if all that werent bad enough, Lucia has to put up with the sententious moralizing of the castle bore, her elderly tutor Raimondo (John Allin). He persuades her to consent to the wedding, and reminds her there are heavenly rewards for earthly sacrifices.
