Surprise! Edgardo (Kennon Saari) has returned early from France and, hearing that Lucia (Sinéad Sugrue) has betrayed him and contracted to marry another, bursts into the castle and confronts her.
The enraged guests draw their swords, and Enrico (Yevgeny Yablonovsky) confronts Edgardo but everybody knows its time for the famous sextet, so everybody sings like crazy.
But sextet over, only Raimondos (John Allin) intervention prevents a duel between Enrico and Edgardo. Lucia, understandably distressed, collapses.
Later that evening, Enrico (Yevgeny Yablonovsky, left) and Edgardo (Kennon Saari) meet and agree to fight a duel.
