Serena Kemball (Lucia Ashton) made her debut in February 2001 as Violetta in La Traviata with TOR. She has performed the role of Giunone in The Vocal Art Forums production of La Calisto with members of the Tafelmusik Orchestra. In March 2003, she played the role of Mary Magdalene in The Daughters of Galilee, a new work composed by Lawrence Goudge with the Annex Singers. She has also been a soloist in Handels Messiah with the Apollo Chamber Orchestra at Emmanuel Howard Park United Church. Her roles include the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflote, the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Amina in La Sonnambula, Mercedes in Carmen, Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, LEnfant in Le Cid, Le Prince Charmant in Cendrillon, and the First Witch in Dido and Aeneas. Together with her voice teacher, Jo-Anne Bentley and her vocal coach, Brahm Goldhamer, this spring she will be studying the role of Madama Butterfly.
