Michael Sugrue began his classical singing training three years ago. Last winter he sang the roles of Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Arturo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor with Toronto Opera Repertoire, and has sung the role of Monostatos from Mozart’s The Magic Flute at York University. He has also sung with the Opera Mississauga Chorus and is a member of the Palestrina Chamber Chorus. Some of the events he has participated in include recent concerts with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Hamilton Academy Orchestra with Boris Brott and an Italian Tour (Summer 2002) with performances at a variety of esteemed venues in Northern Italy. He has performed as a soloist in many concerts, including The Seven Last Words of Christ by DuBois with Coro Verdi, Opera Exerpts with Toronto Opera Repertoire, the Irish Choral Society and recent appearances with DivaDivaDiva. Michael is also working on the role of Rodolfo in Puccinis La Boheme for TORs excerpt performances in March 2005.

Michael Sugrue will sing Pinkerton Friday, February 18; Wednesday, February 23 and Friday, March 4.
