In real life, Gerald Hannon is an award-winning journalist, though in fantasy he has appeared quite frequently at both the Metropolitan Opera in New York and Milans La Scala. This is his fourth season with Toronto Opera Repertoire. In previous years he has sung the Sacristan in Puccinis Tosca, Frank in Strausss Die Fledermaus, Schaunard in Puccinis La Boheme and Leporello in Mozarts Don Giovanni. With Tryptych Operas summer workshop productions, he has appeared as Al in Most Happy Fella, and as Aegean and the Sorcerer in The Boys From Syracuse.
